Google Business Profile

A Google Business Profile is the free business listing shown in Maps and in search results, where customers leave reviews.

Where it comes from

The profile is displayed whether or not the business has claimed it — Google can create one automatically. Once verified, the owner can edit the details, publish opening hours, reply to reviews and generate a link for leaving them.

What it means in practice

Analysis does not need profile access, because reviews are public. Access is required for two things: replying to reviews and requesting them. An unclaimed profile is the most common reason a business has several hundred reviews and has answered none.
