The Google Maps review filter

The review filter is an automatic Google mechanism that withholds or removes reviews judged unreliable — before anyone reports them.

Where it comes from

The filter reacts to technical signals rather than to content: many reviews from one network address, accounts created just before posting, bursts posted in a short window, repetitive wording. Google publishes no rules and gives no notice — the review simply never appears, or disappears after a few days.

What it means in practice

There is no appeal against the filter. The only thing that works is stopping whatever triggers it: spread review requests out over time and do not collect them on a company device by the exit. If reviews vanish on you regularly, the cause is almost always how they are collected rather than a fault.
